Website redesign: refresh it — or start over?
Slow, dated or broken on mobile? We review your site and tell you honestly whether it's worth updating — or whether a new build costs less than patching the old one.
When is a website redesign the right move?
A website redesign — modernization, refresh, whatever you call it — comes up with the usual signs: the site breaks on mobile, takes over three seconds to load, looks like the 2010s, you can't edit content yourself, Google can't find the site and inquiries don't come — or your host demands a PHP upgrade the old theme won't survive. And if WordPress and plugins have gone unmaintained for years, it's a security risk too: outdated software is the most common reason sites get hacked.
The honest answer agencies rarely give: a redesign isn't always worth it. If the foundation is sound, a refresh — speed, design, content — is enough. If the foundation is rotten (an ancient theme, a pile of abandoned plugins), a new site is cheaper than endlessly patching the old one. We tell you which case is yours.
When we do rebuild, we keep what has value: the content, the Google rankings (proper redirects!), and your editing habits. The site never disappears meanwhile — the new one is built alongside and swapped in within an evening.
What a redesign covers
- ✓A review and an honest verdict: refresh or rebuild
- ✓Speed fixed — the single most underrated ranking factor
- ✓Design brought to this decade, mobile view first-class
- ✓Google rankings preserved: redirects and structure handled properly
- ✓Content carried over — texts, images, often the CMS too
- ✓Texts reviewed — outdated info is as bad as an outdated design
- ✓Content editing made simpler, not scarier
How a redesign works
We go through the site: technology, speed, structure, rankings. You get an honest picture.
Refresh or rebuild — with a written quote for each, within two business days.
The work happens alongside the live site, never on top of it — with a backup before every change. You review on a staging link.
Redirects in place, rankings monitored, analytics comparing before and after.
Website redesign pricing
A refresh — speed, design corrections, content restructuring — is billed hourly at €70–110. A full redesign is priced like a new build minus everything we can reuse, so a business site lands at €2800 or below. The review tells us which one you actually need.

Asked before every redesign
Not if the move is done properly — redirects, preserved structure or a careful mapping. That's exactly why a redesign should be done with a developer who understands SEO.
Yes — texts, images and usually the CMS with your editing habits intact. Content is an asset; we don't throw assets away.
A refresh improves a sound site in targeted spots and is billed hourly. A redesign replaces the foundation and is priced like a new build minus reuse. The review tells you which you need — and we'll say if it's the cheaper one.
A refresh: days to a week. A full redesign runs like a new build, 3–5 weeks — with the old site live until the swap.
Technical updates (WordPress, plugins, PHP) monthly — that's what website care covers, from €49/mo. Content continuously. A bigger refresh or full redesign every 3–5 years, or whenever the business has outgrown the site.
